Theresa Tommey, Consultant and Instructional Designer


Theresa draws upon 15 years of experience in facilitation, training design, and performance improvement -- including the development of products for the PC, classroom, satellite and video. Most recently she has worked in leadership development for two Fortune 500 financial services companies. She has also served as a vice president and team leader of instructional design and development, leading a variety of groups and projects.

Theresa is recognized for her ability to quickly identify and implement solutions to increase the performance of individuals and teams.

Products and services she has provided to her clients include: needs assessment, instructional design, development and delivery, performance evaluation, organizational effectiveness programs, coaching and leadership programs, process mapping and improvement, and Human Resources consulting.

She holds a master's degree in the learning sciences with an emphasis on learning simulations, from Northwestern University.

Some of Theresa's accomplishments:

  • Design and development of sales coaching training to support coaches in assessing performance, holding employees accountable and coaching employees on managing sales goals and prospects.

  • Design and development of a performance appraisal workshop for supervisors, including basic feedback skills and a process for assessing and documenting employee performance.

  • Design, development and facilitation of leadership and coaching training for supervisors, branch managers and executive sales leaders to better recognize and address performance problems.

  • Project management and development of a multimedia product-knowledge CD that described financial products for newly hired sales employees.

  • Vendor selection and project management of a financial consulting sales simulation program featuring realistic customer situations, immediate feedback and access to video clips of expert sales performers delivered via the web and computer based training.

  • Facilitation of meetings with leaders to review their personal effectiveness with their teams through the use of 360-degree feedback.
