Common-Sense Consulting

O wad some Pow'r the giftie gie us
To see oursels as others see us
It wad frae monie a blunder free us
An' foolish notion
What airs in dress an' gait wad lea'e us
An' ev'n Devotion

           -- Robert Burns, circa 1785

To see ourselves as others see us… the great Scottish poet was talking about humanity and humility. But in those undying first two lines, he also said a lot about working relationships.

Specifically, about the need "to see oursels (sic) as others see us."

As consultants we work to understand your culture and your goals - as you see them. Only then will we know enough to partner with you. We do a lot of listening and questioning.

You need current ideas and a flexible, creative consulting partner. You need practicality; real-world focus, a sound plan, execution and follow-up. And you wouldn't mind some common sense along the way.

Years ago, a young editor critiqued a periodical that had done things the same way for a long time. The owners knew it was time to change, but didn't know how.

The editor's response was simple. "You've got great stuff buried inside," he told them. "You don't need to work miracles, or turn into big spenders. Just put your best stuff out front!"

And they did. It's only common sense to make the most of what you have.

We'll help you find a way.
