Adam Cerda, CISSP, Technical Consultant


Adam Cerda has served for the past eleven years on technical and process-related assignments at Wells Fargo / Wachovia Bank -- the last four as a Senior Process Improvement Consultant within the Corporate Information Security (CIS) Department. He is a technical consultant and facilitator for H&A Learning Systems, and also works as a technical consultant with his own clients.

Adam is the senior member of the Security Strategy, Planning, and Communications team at Wells Fargo, which focuses on strategic planning and process improvement across all functional areas within the bank's information security program. Overall, his technical background is in developing (a.) data mining, and (b.) reporting systems that analyze operational performance metrics at a variety of levels, based on user needs.

As a facilitator, Adam uses a variety of processes and methods -- with audiences ranging from Wells Fargo senior leadership teams to individual contributor / subject matter experts of CIS and its business partners. These partners include representation from the Technology, Risk Management, Policy, Standards and Compliance, Corporate Fraud and Investigations, Incident Response, and Privacy departments.

Adam leads the efforts of Wells Fargo's CIS metrics program and process improvement activities. Using foundational concepts of CMMi, and the measurement disciplines of Six Sigma, he provides a range of process-related services -- including process definition and modeling, process measurement and reporting for all levels of the enterprise, process maturity assessments, and process improvement consulting and coaching.

He has participated in a variety of projects for H&A Learning Systems, including facilitation in a day-long, multi-team problem-solving/decision-making meeting, videotaping and production, and other assorted technical assignments. He is a certified HelixPLANŽ facilitator, using that process as a problem-solving and decision-making tool.

Before joining Wachovia, Adam's professional experience ranged from commodities trading in the currency and grains markets in New York City, to audio engineering in recording studios, to substance abuse counseling. A Brooklyn, N.Y. native and graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton, he practices and teaches the Yang and Chen styles of Tai Chi, and lives in Charlotte with his wife and two children.
